Chances are very slim that PS3 safari title Hakuna Matata – or Afrika, as it’s better known – will ever get an Australian release. But you can score an English-language version for thirty bucks over on Play Asia.
Which is just in that sweet spot where I’m prepared to take a punt on something that I can’t help but keep thinking is really just Far Cry 2 without the guns.
I’ve also spotted these deals up on Play Asia, all of which are region-free. Prices are in AUD.
Bionic Commando (360, PS3) $30
Brothers In Arms: Hell’s Highway (360) $18
Condemned 2 (360) $18
Far Cry 2 (360) $30
F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin (360) $30
Ninja Gaiden 2 (360) $30
The Orange Box (360) $18
Resistance (PS3) $30
Scene It? Box Office Smash (360) $30
Tom Clancy’s Endwar (PS3) $30
Too Human (360) $12
Unreal Tournament III (360) $18
Viva Pinata: Trouble In Paradise (360) $18

There are plenty of region-free 360 titles. Microsoft doesn’t mandate region-coding, instead it’s down to individual publishers.

It’s a shame that I wouldn’t even purchase Too Human at a price of $12. I still remember hearing about that title when the N64 was a ‘next-gen’ console.
