God this ad campaign has gotten as tired as the entire GUITAR HERO series......we knew ACTIVISION would drive this franchise into the ground.

I'm kinda torn on this whole ad campaign. On one hand I do kind of appreciate the "consistency," but on the other it's getting old and predictable. But at least this one (and I'd say the Metallica one) is better than some of the others. Random sports icons? The American Idol Davids? Heidi Klum? Why?

I didn't know about that whole getting GH:Van Halen for free though. I guess that's cool.

I am so freakin' hyped for this game. Guitar Hero 5 brings in ALL the hot ladies. The Beatles: Rock Band? Psh. All that'll net me is a bunch of annoying fans in the form of an Asian midget, some short wanna be rockstar kids, a couple of grandmas, and a bunch of hippies, some disguised as middle-aged businessmen. The winner is clear here. I don't know what the heck Harmonix was thinking, but obviously Activision knows what we're all looking for in a game.

Just like the game series is becoming, these commercials are stale and irrelevant. I would respect Guitar Hero if they had not of went the Rock Band route and tried to be their own thing. I would also respect them if they weren't making guitar "heroes" out of people like Johnny Cash (my favorite singer/songwriter) and Kurt Cobain, who really weren't that skilled with a guitar (Johnny Cash admits this many times over his career). I'll stick to Rock Band since I find it the least tacky of the two.

The headline sound's like the beginning of a bad joke.
