Tearing The PSPgo To Pieces, Just To See What Its Insides Look Like

Another day, another ruthless dismembering of a Sony console, as following on from yesterday’s PS3 Slim teardown we now get a real good look at the PSPgo’s inside bits.

Not knowing what the hell was going on, I just sat back, scrolled through the 12 pages of pics and pretended I could hear the PSPgo screaming in agony as its little wires and chips were plucked from its body, one by one.

    The yellow on the green pleases me aesthetically.
    Hmm.

  • GenerealBison

    Wow, turned out to be some pretty quality stuff after all!

    @ca$h (for clunkers): Those monsters. What kind of world are we living in.... but it would be one hell of a practical joke.

    Looks like it's just enough of a waste of a system to slightly offset the awesomeness that is a 300 dollar PS3.

    All news of slowly torturing a PSP go is welcome in my book. 2000 forever!

    "... pretended I could hear the PSPgo screaming in agony as its little wires and chips were plucked from its body, one by one."

    Yes... Yes! This is now a very enjoyable post!

    @SuperTongue:

    I lol'd.

    Yeah, I tore apart my ps3 and all my psp's too dilly dally.

    My umd reader broke in my 3000, but i ended up replacing it. :D

    I just need to know how to map a 2nd analog to the shape buttons so I can mod psp's myself.

    @ittekimasu: Man in suit: "Point to the spot on this motherboard, little tablet, where ittekimasu touched you."

    Tablet: *Points to metal strip*

    Man in suit: "That's one of your no-no areas, little tablet. He "voided your warranty" and ruined your life forever."

    Tablet: =(

    @aw3str1k3r:
    Remember those people who waited in line at a console to launch, brought out one of the first ones sold, and smashed it on the street in front of the line of people still waiting to get one? You wanna talk about millions of cries....

  • Ca$h (aka cold hard)

    @TookiGuy:
    The PSP (and by extension the basic hardware) has been out since 2005 in the west. I remember playing Ridge Racer at launch and being blown away by the thought of something so powerful in my hands. But that was close to half a decade ago, though.

  • Ca$h (aka cold hard)

    @Archaotic:
    Didn't you hear? Everything's out in China the first day it rolls off the assembly line.

  • sander_dutch

    I was expecting a creamy filling.

  • TookiGuy

    @aw3str1k3r: I actually sometimes feel bad for the controller I don't use. I feel like it's feeling ignored.

  • ittekimasu

    tried pulling my tablet apart once.. accidently tore some metal strip and it's never been the same since :(

  • WhatTheFrag

    From those images, it does feel as if that if the PSP series were to last another three-five years without an actual new version iof the PSP then we'll see the PSPGoSlim in a year and a half or two.

  • TookiGuy

    Wow, I have absolutely NO idea what the hell exactly I'm looking at inside it. I'll just say that it's pretty powerful for a thing so darn petite. It's pretty clear that we've reached a point where we can have something of a Gamecube/Xbox-level portable. It's funny, it seemed pretty far-fetched just a year ago.
    I underestimate the speed of tech... Which is accelerating.

  • aw3str1k3r

    I must respectfully disagree with your idea that the PSPgo would scream as it is taken apart.

    These people appear to be professionals. I would liken them to surgeons. They would most certainly have knocked out their patient before digging around inside and putting them back together.

    Now taking a sledgehammer and bashing it open to see what it looks like... It's as if millions cried out and were suddenly silenced...

  • InconspicuouslyConspicuous

    Imagining screams coming from hardware? Maybe it's time for a break from the comp...

    hmm... I should take my own advice, maybe...

  • Esper mind tricks

    I find it funny that they use a gamecube logo on the pictures.

    Jeez, ya gotta hand it to these guys, they don't waste any time. The system's not even out yet and they've already gutted it.
