Dammit, we want you to tell us stuff! Stuff like your video game dreams.

This isn’t some marketing survey or whatever. It’s an emotional investment in you. Yes, we’re interesting in knowing you, Kotaku reader person. You probably know fucktons about us — more than you even want to, we’re sure. But, hey, we’d like to know about you, too.

Anyway, here’s today’s question…

Have you ever had a dream about video games? Maybe you were playing one? Or maybe you were inside one? Or maybe a video game character stepped out of their game and into your dream? Tell us about it!

Me? I’ve had the usual Tetris type ones where a simple image is just imprinted in my brain. Too much time spent staring at Geometry Wars, Puzzle Quest or even Football Manager screens. I may have even dreamt of being called the Hero of Kvatch once…

    I had a battle with Meister Seymour once in a dream. He accused me of getting away the last time and would not fail to beat me this time.
    (even though I had never battled him in a dream before that)

    I had a dream once that video games in Australia got released on time and not months later.

    Then I woke up.

    … and I can also remember a vague dream where I was playing poker and drinking Jack Daniels with Dr Who, Kirby, and Pyramid Head From Silent Hill.

    Thats about it for me. Apart from these I never dream much about game related stuff

    late at night, I get so pumped up playing bf1943 and cod4 that I have terribly restless sleep and keep waking up every half hhour with tense flashbacks.
    it is just like the movies. quite funny really.

    One of my friends is trying to get me into WoW nearly every day. I had a dream I caved in the other night… fortunately, I woke up before I actually bought it in the dream.

    Too much of any one game will see highlights that night in my sleep.

    Most of the time this was Starcraft and Warcraft3, but Advance Wars and Puzzle Quest also featured heavily for a few weeks!

    I.ve had the tetris type dream…but instead with Lumines. Blocks falling, rotating, disappearing…it never ends!!! – more like a nightmare!

    Another dream (nightmare) has been me constantly walking around 2fort (tf2) pointlessly – essentially repeating the 24/7 server experience while I sleep :/

    I had one which was a combination of AvP2, and the free game Black Shades. It involved me running around, attempting to protect people from the aliens, but I had a keyboard on my chest, and hitting the correct keys would have the same effect as they would in dev mode from black shades. The whole dream got really weirder when the alien queen jumped in, and I force pushed it off a building I was mysteriously on top of… Weird dream.

    I’ve had the WoW dreams, pressing the same few buttons for a few hours gets ingrained in your head for some reason. In the dream we actually killed whats his name in the top of Karazhan, unlike our raiding that day.

    I had similar dreams about washing dishes back when I was working hospitality, why hasn’t someone made a game out of that!?

    when i was playing wow and working at big w i would have dreams of epic quests in shopping centres, it was a strange time, when i was bored at work i would pray for a question mark to appear over someones head and go adventuring in the food court!

    I dream of a decent space trading game, with a massive world. Kind of like the old “elite” eries, or what freelancer could have been. I see absolutely no reason why they shouldn’t be able to make it, looking at games like GTA 4 and Fallout 3. Maybe there is just no market for it :(

    I’ve had a few dreams. I dreamt about an action adventure game that was a cross between Tomb Raider and devil may cry. That’s just weird. Seemed like a pretty good game though.
    I’ve dreamt about DDR arrows before. But anyone who plays enough DDR would and I think I had a dream with the entire Mario party cast in a castle that was sinking under water. o_o

    It’s really hazy, but I recall dreams where I’m in rpg type stories like Tales of Symphonia and doing stuff with the main characters and actually in the game.. they were nice dreams, but then I woke up =(
