45th Beatles Rock Band Song To Be A Surprise

@ShaggE wants to join the Egg Council.: This would be great, but that's going to be part of the downloadable content in November when they release the Sgt. Pepper's Album so I can't see them having that as the 45th song.

All My Loving's missing from the list and that seems like a song that could easily be put into RB. Be great with the harmonies too!

@jcb231: At least with most of their early covers they made them their own. The original Twist & Shout is dull compared to John's screaming version.

For all the people who say "Carnival of Light" -- how exactly is one supposed to play an avant-garde experimental sound collage-type long-form musical piece with four plastic instruments?

From Wikipedia:
"Barry Miles wrote that the song had 'no rhythm, although a beat is sometimes established for a few bars by the percussion or a rhythmic pounding piano. There is no melody, although snatches of a tune sometimes threaten to break through.'"

Sounds like the ultimate Rock Band challenge to me.

Carnival of Light. Seriously, that would be HUGE. And, since it was written by McCartney and everyone who worked on Beatles Rock Band has to sign off before its use (Paul, Ringo, Yoko and Olivia) it would only make sense. They all got together to make the game, why not release (officially) the one song everyone has been dying to hear?

Here's hoping that Microsoft comes to their senses and waives their rights to exclusivity at some point, for the charity at least, the 360 inferiority complex is between the 360 and the PS3, no need to hurt the Doctor's and the millions of good they do around the world simply because it can't compete on even grounds with the PS3...

I'm putting my money on "one after 909." Watched the Vh-1 Beatles music video special to promote the game. It is the last song they showed and in makes sense considering the release date of the game.

@pfc.joker: As good a song as Blackbird is, I don't really think there's enough to it to include in the main setlist of a Rockband game. I mean, there's just vocals, one guitar, a metronome beat and some bird chirps.

@Skyebers: Carnival of Light is supposedly a very experimental, avant garde piece of art-music. More of a sound-scape than a song really. If it shows up in the game it would probably be as bonus content (like The Beatles Christmas Album). I doubt it'll be a playable track.

Also if it was going to be included, they would be shouting it from the rooftops, as the song has never been released. That's not something you keep secret. It's a selling point.

In the recent Rolling Stone cover story on the Beatles, Paul said there are several unreleased songs but really only one more he and Ringo would actually like to release, one that George didn't care for but that they might finish up and put out sometime. This game would certainly be too soon on the heels of that interview to have finished the song...so I doubt its an unreleased song. If so it would be an amazingly good secret because interest in that would go far beyond this game.

Well, if this is going to be a culmination of the game, then Hey Jude seems like the best option. But She Loves You would make a very fun song. Imagine is cool, but first, it's John Lennon, not the Beatles, and it's more piano heavy than anything, making it awkward for Rock Band. I'd love to see A Day in the Life, but that's not a great setup for Rock Band either.

My money's on Hey Jude.

It's definately a song we've heard of. My thought originally was that Christmas song they were talking about a while back as being unlockable to listen to.

But looking at the confirmed setlist, "Let it Be" stands out as a HUGE omission...especially when they've included the rooftop concert as part of the career mode.
