A Zelda Peripheral For Hyrulapalooza
It’s dangerous to rock out. Here, take this. It’s $US95, is real, and comes fully endorsed, because it has the word “FUZZ” on it. No harm ever came from a combination of fuzz and guitars.
We’re a bit sceptical about the item’s selling spiel:
The Bit Legend of Fuzz Guitar Effects Pedal is an intense sawtooth shaping fuzz that creates tones reminiscent of C64, Atari, and other old video game consoles. Operates on standard 9 volt battery.
That might be a bit of a stretch for a humble effects pedal, but hey, as has been pointed out, it’s got a Zelda theme on it as well as the word “fuzz”. That should be good enough for most.

@SPECIALciaNAPKIN:
I think they stole that from Pablo Fransisco. He made Aaron Neville funny way back in 2002.
(Human) Gyaruson
@(Human) Gyaruson: Which reminds me...
@tim rogers: I didn't have any balls to be blown off since The Legend of Fuzz already did that
@SPECIALciaNAPKIN:
No, no, no. A talk box. Like the one Peter Frampton uses. Except when I use it, it says "Do you-a feel like I-a do?"
(Human) Gyaruson
@ninjajazza: Through the fire and the flames, we carry bombs! *guitar solo*
Showmeyomoves!
Unless it has one of the sound chips from said old videogame consoles, it wont manage it.
I say this as someone who built an effects peddle out of a SID 6582.
Devi Ever is a premium maker of guitar effects pedals. This one is kind of his answer to the MXR Blue Box, which sounds like this:

As you can see if you listen to that demo, these kinds of sounds are not in any way a "stretch", and this is by no means a "humble" effects pedal!
The Legend of Fuzz, which I have actually wanted for a while, sounds like this

If I had to recommend one other effect by Devi Ever to get the idea of what his stuff is able to do, it would be the Truly Beautiful Disaster:

If that demo didn't blow your balls off, news flash: you didn't have any.
Plunkett please be "promoting" my comment to The Highest Level please :-/
@(Human) Gyaruson: Did you lose your voice due to smoking and get a voice box shipped to you from the Mushroom Kingdom?
This will go great with my talk box that makes me sound like Mario!
(Human) Gyaruson
I now want one of these.. ;-;
Arc-
the first thing i thought was tri-dragonforce. does that make me a bad person?

@tim rogers:
wow, I was going to say something about how fuzz boxes are a distortion effect and what they sound like...and you post like the most informing comment I have ever seen on Kotaku
well played
But does it go all the way up to 11?
@tim rogers: Is your name in reference to the Tim Rogers of You Am I fame?
Here's a clip I found of someone using it on YouTube, since there's no example audio on the shop page.
@(Human) Gyaruson: Ah, Pablo Fransisco. How i miss looking up small clips of you on youtube.
I guess i should step up and watch a full skit. To isohunt, i go.
so it's basically a Zelda-themed Big Muff pedal? FAWK YES, i'm getting 2.

@searanox:
Are you fucking kidding me? Go back to your bridge, troll.
@searanox: My, aren't we the angry one. Didn't know promoting a product that you're impressed by puts you on the same level as murderers and rapists.
Norellicus
@tim rogers: Please be advertising somewhere else, scumbag.
searanox
@KyleNichol: That would be the creator of the effects pedal demoing it. I used to know him when I was young.
@tim rogers: Yup Devi Ever is a really nice person too. I'm personally a fan of the God zilla octave fuzz.
TheTwizzler
@searanox: Um, Tim writes for Kotaku.
@d_r_e: Seriously. Fucking assholes you see on here sometimes.
@HELLSRIDER is doing stuff: thats not much more expensive than a normal effects pedal, well a good one that is. And effects pedals are very very useful, they can change the tone completely of what you are playing.
@KyleNichol: Would have liked him to lay something from zelda with it, not just improvise with it. I also dont see it being very useful...or worth the $95...
@TheTwizzler:
Oooo, the GOD zilla is a nasty beast!!! I'm a big fan of the Rocket and the Shoe Gazer. The Truly Beautiful Disaster is another favorite of mine as well. Devi makes some awesome pedals, that's for sure.
@tim rogers:
Ahhh the Truly Beautiful Disaster, such an amazing pedal. Good to see that someone here at Kotaku has had some experience with stompbox effects! Kick ass!!!!
I'm tempted to buy one, but youtube sound clips aren't something I'd base a 95 dollar purchase on. I wonder if any non-online stores carry this.
It just looks like an electro-harmonix fuzz pedal with a Zelda skin on it.
@BruzeWayne: nah, it's something with an octave up I think.. from hearing it
mutedia
@WittyUserName: no, but it does have armadillos in it's trouseers, it's really quite frightening
