BattleForge Invaded By Renegade Cards
EA’s free-to-play card-based real-time strategy game BattleForge scores an expansion today, with 60 new units ready to be added to your deck in the Renegade Edition card set.
The BattleForge Renegade Edition card set is an expansion of the Renegade Campaign introduced earlier this year, which added the Southern Wastes region of Nyn to the game. The expansion brings two new support factions in the Bandits and Stonekin, plus a whole mess of legendary creatures and buildings to help bolster your line as you advance through the ranks.
The Renegade Edition cards are now available in the BattleForge in-game store, purchasable for $US2.50 or 250 BattleForge points. Check out the game’s official website to download and play for free.

@-MasterDex-: An important point to make is that you can do a pretty good job without having a deck chock full of rare cards. It doesn't have as high an entry barrier as something like Magic.
@c-rag: fun game and generally inexpensive to pick up if you play the auction house (marketplace) which is leagues easier to do than in other games.
The 1v1 mode was kind of messed up when I had last played it, it was dominated by either mass CC + 1-2 hard to kill units doing the dirty work or by a certain fire tower card in t1 that outranges pretty much everything..(both strategies could be overcome, but it required a ridiculous amount of effort to do so compared to what the other player was doing).
The co-op (or pve as the game refers to it as) is very fun and the maps all have something different about them (only downside is a decent amount of them near the end culminate in amassing a large t4 force, though it should go without mentioning that there are other maps where you don't have this option)
It has so much potential to be a great game and perhaps the concept in some form or another will be used by a developer better versed in RTS. I have had some good times with it though but 1v1 seemed so broken that it wasn't long before I got fed up of even trying it. The co-op missions are great fun and repeatable which is a good thing.
I still believe the game has the ability to succeed, perhaps with this new card expansion and some extra TLC, it'll do better.

@Kicken: It's actually a very good game, it's only real problem being some card unbalances, but that's to be expected.
@televizor: You make your faction out of cards, those cards have different tiers so that a good deck goes from teir 1 to teir 4 well in just the same way that an RTS faction goes from teir 1 units upwards. The game even has resource gathering and defensive structures. To sum it up, it's an RTS where you decide the faction you play as.
Try it out for yourself before dismissing it. It's free to play and you get enough cards to try the game out.

@Ur-Lord-Crypy: I just got mine at Toys R Us too!
@Trygle12 is back! Still has trouble reading his posts. : (:
I see em at Gamestop.
Other than that, I know nothing of the game.
Kicken
@Kicken: Yup the free version comes with a limited set of cards and no battleforge points to spend on the good stuff.
@televizor: The theories behind the gameplay are similar to MtG, but BF is an RTS, where as MtG could be compared to a Turn-Based strategy game.

@Trygle12 is back! Still has trouble reading his posts. : (: I picked up a full Eye of judgement pack for $19.99 at toys r us. Not sure how many different varities there are being as I just got it, BUt you know.

meh, I'd rather play a game of Magic the Gathering every now and then with my friends rather than any PC or console trading card games. And that Beast Dominator from the 2nd pic looks too much like a Thoctar.
Edit: It's free?! Hmm...

@ThreeOneFive:
Because that comes with 3000bfp and various cards.
Kicken
@ThreeOneFive: It's listed as such because that buys you the retail version, which includes the 4 starter decks as well as 3000 Battleforge points to spend on cards.

This game showed potential, but is kind of limited. It comes down to rock-paper-scissors to the Nth degree. This might change more as more cards and strategies are introduced.
Wait, if it's free then why the hell is it listed as $29.99 on Steam?
Speaking of Card based videogames...
Whatever happened to the Eye of Judgement?
I can't find any of the cards. :/
