Keiji Inafune, creator of Mega Man and designer of Dead Rising, showed up at the studio of Halo developer Bungie.
Bungie, Inafune says, is an “amazing studio”, and he was curious how Bungie made its titles to see if Capcom could ever add some of that je-ne-sais-pas to Capcom games. “I wanted to come down to Bungie in order to see just how well our philosophies on game design matched up,” Inafune adds. “If things clicked, I know it would be interesting to collaborate together on a title in the future.”
Interesting, indeed.

What is it…
Okay not everyone LIKES Halo. But you cannot deny the importance they have made within the gaming industry. The way they changed online gaming. The way they reached a broader audience. And the fact that, even though one may not like the game, Bungie do actually make above decent games.

Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at 3:06 PMI think that’s why Bungie split from Microsoft. Whilst they’re still making some halo games, they have commented saying that they want to move onto future projects. Obviously M$ would have something else in mind.
But now M$ has the Halo franchise under their control, they probbaly couldn’t care less now what Bungie does.

Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 11:43 AMWhat is it with all this hatred for Halo and Bungie? Nobody can deny the impact that Halo has had on console shooters. Sure, the hectic pace may not appeal to everyone, but calling Halo a generic game when it has changed all console first-person shooters forever is a bit stupid. Maybe it seems generic because literally every console FPS since Halo: CE has copied it in some way? The dual-thumb stick controls: introduced by Halo. Regenerating health: introduced by Halo. Limiting the amount of weapons the player can pick up: introduced by Halo. Thee list goes on. All of those are now regular in shooters, except for the control scheme, which has become standard.
And saying that Halo is being milked is also laughable. There have been only 3 Halo games by Bungie so far, compared the 30+ Mario games and whatever Final Fantasy is up to. There are more Splinter Cell games than Halo games, but never has anybody said that Splinter Cell is being milked. What you’re saying just comes across as fanboyism. It’s okay if you don’t like it and you express your opinion, but attacking it for no reason and presenting your opinions as fact is getting a bit tiresome.
