Can you guess this old game from just one screenshot?
I’ll update this post with the answer at 5pm today if no one has guessed before then. Or if you do guess it before then, feel free to share your memories of a classic game.
It’s.. er.. Was about to say Elite 2 or similar, but I’m pretty sure that’s wrong.. It’s one of those planet exploring Elite-style games from the Amiga or DOS days (I think), but just can’t place it.
Looks like HUNTER for the amiga, played that game heaps. Deserves way more credit for being possibly the first 3d open-world, multi-vehicle game on any system.

I think that’s the one I had on the Megadrive ages ago, so 3d! I could play it non-stop! It even had like missile cam and what not, awesome.

Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at 10:07 AMI’m thinking Mercenary 2 on the amiga? I think the first one only had wireframe graphics… awww but even that’s a bit of a guess.
Either way, i’m guessing it had to be programmed by Paul Woakes or Jez San. :)

Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at 10:33 AMDerek and Geoff both got it. Damocles: Mercenary II on the Amiga. And yes, Paul Woakes was the man responsible.
What an amazing world to explore.
