We’re hearing plenty of reports from readers unable to purchase The Beatles: Rock Band as it goes on sale around Australia today.
It appears that EA and MTV Games have been hamstrung by a very limited supply to retail. We’ve heard that many stores are already out of stock, unsurprising since we’ve also heard that individual stores were receiving quantities in the very low single digits. Some, apparently, were lucky to receive even one copy.
UPDATE: We’ve heard that a mere 4000 units of the full instrument bundle were brought into the country for launch. It seems the Wii version occupied the greatest share, so if you want it on 360 or PS3… good luck!

That, and the fact it is standalone and incompatible with my existing RB2 game and DLC, is a good reason not to buy this.
The only thing I want to buy is a standalone guitar as I don’t have any RB guitars. I will continue to buy RB DLC.

Thursday, September 10, 2009 at 11:20 AMI ordered it from the Game website on Monday when it was pouring rain in Sydney so didn’t want the hassle of looking for it on Wednesday, turned out to be a nice week anyway, back to the game they shipped it off on Tuesday and it was waiting for me at home last night. Just got the game not the full set.
Managed to play through the whole story mode last night, unlocked all the songs. Now to go back and learn to play on harder difficulty and get some friends in to play too.

Tried Kmart, Myer, ToysRus, JBHiFi & EB Games. So far JBHiFi are the only ones too have had ANY stock of Beatles:RB – and they are sold out… With no plans to get more stock!?!
WTF!? Not really asking for much – a decent quality peripheral to go with RB:2 and or Beatles:RB and or GHWT.

I suggest looking at Dick Smith stores for the bundle, they haven’t advertised them and they really aren’t selling according to them. Also mine was missing the top of the mic stand – Dick Smith opened up another box and gave me the missing part from that :)
