SEGA PSP Vocaloid Character Turned Into Robot

Miku Hatsune, the Vocaloid character, already has a PSP music game and is getting an upcoming arcade game. But what if someone built her? What would she look like?

Probably something like this. Created for this year’s CEATEC JAPAN show, the droid cannot dance around, but she can move her head around and sing. Getting androids to walk is an incredibly challenging task — singing, blinking and talking is far more manageable. Below, Miku sings the song “Melt”.

The sound quality isn’t so great and neither is the camera work. Whaddayagonnado.

That robot just looks creepy as hell. And I don’t like this song.
I really wish they’d perfect this thing for other languages as well.

It reminds me of the old Supermarionation stuff. After 40 years, all they’ve managed to do is get rid of (some) of the strings.
