The post-apocalyptic martial arts manga Fist of the North Star (Hokuto no Ken) is coming to the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360 as Hokuto Musou.

The manga debuted in 1983 and went on to spin off two animated series and motion pictures. Check out the Japanese opening.

Details are still scant, but early (and blurry) scans characters Kenshiro, Rei, Raoh and Yuria. The game is scheduled for release sometime next year from the folks at Tecmo Koei.

Not really sure who this will appeal to in the western market.

I wouldn’t be so quick to say that.
Fist of the North Star, though quite old, does have a loyal fan base. I’m sure if it turns out to be a well rounded game, it will drive decent sales in the non-japanese markets. IF it even makes it outside of Japan that is.

Looks to be a sort of 3rd person action game, if the manga/anime is anything to go by, the action will be intense.

Fist of the north star/Dynasty warriors? Aww… I was hoping it would play like GOD HAND, considering thats what the game seemed to be infulenced by.
