The legal back and forth between Interplay and Bethesda over the rights to make a Fallout massively multiplayer game had some interesting… fallout recently: Concept art.
Over on the Interplay website, the development team posted that some of the concept art for the still-in-work MMO have been released due to the lawsuit. So they decided to post them in their forums.
“Keep in mind that this is concept art. It’s not finalised art, but it will give you a feel for what we are aiming for with V13,” Interplay’s Chris Taylor wrote.
Welcome to the Concept Art Forum![Interplay via Duck and Cover]

I can’t deny that that’s some cool-ass art.

Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at 2:42 AMInterplay are pretty much idiots though, they sold their most awesome IP… and are now in court due to breach of conduct with the licence. Im on Bethesdas side here, because quite frankly Interplay are treating the licence like its theirs still… and it just isn’t. Yes Bethesda signed them rights to an MMO, but im sure there was more to that contract than meets eye.
