Gran Turismo Series Might Get Bikes

3:00PM November 12, 2009 | Luke Plunkett

Project Gotham did it. Burnout did it. So if Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi is toying with the idea of putting motorcycles into Gran Turismo, you can’t say it’s without precedent.

In an interview with IGN, the Polyphony Digital boss was asked about the possibility of bikes making their way into the game, to which he responded “If that’s what users really want in the game, I think that’s a possibility. Or we could consider making a Tourist Trophy 2 as well.”

Might be best sticking to TT2. GT5 is late enough as it is.

TT was an excellent game, steep learning curve but awesome fun, the fact it used the GT4 courses and graphics engine just made me feel more at home, one of the few ps2 games i held onto when i updated to the ps3 (hoping they would introduce software emulation), might pick up a cheap ps2 soon to relive the glory (lol)

I would say it is with precedent. Project Gotham and Burnout are FAR from simulation games. GT1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and Forza 1, 2, 3 are as close as it gets and they’re yet to incorporate them. I think it’s a good idea.

Only a good idea if they include the Isle of Man….

Don’t worry, they won’t delay it for this. Why would they when they can release it without the bikes then release them as paid DLC later on? :P
