What Price would you put on Modern Warfare 2 being the most played game over Xbox Live in Australia last week? No, really, no Russian to answer all at once.
Of course, it would be sheer Foley to expect anything else.
InsiderX, Xbox Australia’s official blog, just released its weekly top ten retail games, based on unique users connected to Xbox LIVE across ANZ. It goes like this:
1. Modern Warfare 2
2. Halo 3
3. Assassin’s Creed 2
4. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
5. Call of Duty: World at War
6. Forza Motorsport 3
7. Grand Theft Auto IV
8. Halo 3: ODST
9. FIFA 10
10. Borderlands
So, Halo 3′s kill streak has been ended by Modern Warfare 2. Good to see Assassin’s Creed 2 up there. Also, looks like we’ve all finally moved on from Gears of War.

Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at 4:50 PMI’m not too sure that we need to Takedown people who enjoy a good pun. Why not be a Team Player and dive into the Hornet’s Nest instead of taking part of an Exodus with the other Loose Ends?
Sure, you might want to have a Contingency so that it isn’t Just Like Old Times where everyone just makes a hurricane of puns that don’t make any sense . . .
You know what, I shouldn’t bother trying to be coherent, then I might make some sense instead of having to resort to some sort of Cliffhanger by abusing ellipsis.

Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at 4:37 PMI’m going to EB to buy modern warfare 2 for PC … how can I get it lowest price, I have 2 ps3 titles to trade in …
Dominic Davies
Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at 7:52 PMIf you had a 3rd PS3 title at some EB stores you can get an extra $10 trade credit when you trade in 3, 5, or 7 games for a singular console. Otherwise you could find a friend who still has an EDGE card and get an extra %10 value as well. Also finally if they are newish games they might be on the list of games you can trade in to get MW2 for free, or at least damn cheap.
Don’t forget to do your research and ask for a price match. Have the number for the store you are price matching ready so they can quickly confirm the price and if the other store has stock.

Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at 4:46 PMExcellent! So when do we get a Local Search feature?
Oh, never?!
when’s Bad Company 2 out again?

Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at 5:17 PMConsidering i haven’t played Halo in QUITE SOME TIME – it still regins. I mean still #2.
No doubt MW2 will be #1 for quite some more time, but i do predict Halo will jump up to #1 soon enough. It happened with COD4 – mind you, yes Halo 3 was only a month or two old then.
But AC2 – WOW! It was only out for like 2 or 3 days. I’ve been thrashing that game so much and there is still so much more to do. I haven’t even reached Venice, even though i’ve been distancing myself from main objectives.
C’mon Borderlands, get up there a bit more i say!
QUESTION DAVID: When it says ODST, does that mean playing campaign/firefight or people playing through the multiplayer disc bundled with ODST. If the latter, then if ODST and Halo 3 were combined i would say POSSIBLY a #1.
David Wildgoose
Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at 5:20 PMIf you put your ODST disc in your console and started a game – campaign, firefight, multiplayer – while connected to Xbox Live, then you’re counted towards these rankings. So, essentially, the majority of Halo players are still using the original Halo 3 disc rather than ODST.

Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at 8:42 PMIs that correct? I was under the impression that the ODST multiplayer disc wasn’t differentiated from Halo3?
Jay
Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at 11:12 PMIt could also mean, in Australia, a lot of Halo players didn’t bother with ODST also.
It confuses me that more people, if they owned ODST, wouldn’t play with the ODST disc considering the extra maps. They may not be great maps – but still. It also starts up AS Matchmaking for the menu – easier navigation. Ah well

Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at 11:55 PMYeah I reckon the only way those stats can be correct is if the Multiplayer Disc for ODST reads as Halo 3. Even if people didn’t think much of ODST I would expect most Halo fans to have bought it.

Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at 5:50 PM$99 for modern warfare 2 at eb games, such a rip .. even with 2 ps3 games trade in they only cut the price by $32 … I hate that store!

Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at 10:11 PMBut the title ID of the H3 multiplayer bundled with ODST disk reads Halo 3.
