No Demo For Assassin’s Creed II, Either

10:00AM November 1, 2009 | Owen Good

Ubisoft’s decision to not publish a public demo for the first Assassin’s Creed disappointed fans. They’re going to be disappointed again, because a spokesman has said Assassin’s Creed II won’t get a demo, either.

Connected Consoles reports that, at the Eurogamer Expo, an Ubisoft rep told them straight up the game will not be getting a demo. Your only opportunity to try before you buy is if Ubi brings it to a public expo near you.

Why release a demo for a game thats in such high demand. Doesn’t make sense.

If it’s in high demand, it’s in high DEMAND! If it ain’t, do something to talk it up. EG: A game demo.

The purpose of a game demo isn’t solely meant to increase popularity. A demo is there so people may try the game before they go out and spend AUD$90+ on it. If a person likes a game, they’ll go out and buy it regardless of a demo. A demo isn’t enough to get someone into the game.

I’m not gonna defend their decision to not release a demo and neither should anyone else!
Obviously they’re just money hungry and want people to actually go out and buy the full thing first, then tell em how it is which sort of defeats the purpose!

They don’t want you to realise it’s the same crap as the first.

A demo never hurts sales. I’ve bought a couple games purely because of the demo. Games i’d have never picked up otherwise, although, sales on this are going to be huge either way

I played the game at eGames in Melb….and I can totally see why they wont release a demo.

I couldnt get into it because I was dropped in the middle of an Italian City and didnt know what was going on or why I was supposed to be doing it. Assassins Creed is really story heavy.

But from what I played, its looking really damn good.
