What’s On Good Game TV Tonight?

Kotaku AU

bajo and hexWell, these two, for a start. Let’s find out why Bajo is telling Hex to talk to the hand on tonight’s episode.

This episode preview is brought to you by Good Game researcher and Sydney’s Most Eligible Bachelor (of Animal Husbandry), Jeremy Pencil.

With more Triple-A titles than you can shake a motion-sensing stick at, Bajo and Hex wave goodbye to sleep to bring you the very best the gaming world has to offer.

* We lament the loss of dedicated servers in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 before blowing up some chumps with our A130 gunship
* We bang a gong and get it on in Dragon Age: Origins with a review of suitably epic proportions
* We dust off the flux capacitor to pay a visit to Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time
* And we do the time warp again as New Super Mario Bros Wii brings us exactly the same experience as every other Mario Bros since the dawn of time – only better

Plus Rei talks to the world’s leading experts in DLC at the 2009 Digital Distribution Summit and asks “I CAN HAZ DIGITAL DOWNLOAD GAMES PLZ?”

Catch Good Game Monday nights on ABC2 @ 8:30pm, or late Friday nights on ABC1, just before rage.

I love Junglist, but I’ve always liked Bajo as well and Hex is proving herself to be a good host.

The show is going in a slightly wackier direction these days, but I like that – by the nature of the television medium, Good Game’s reviews often air after the game is already released, so I’ve already seen plenty of straight-faced reviews by that point. It’s nice that the show provides a bit of personality to keep things interesting.

I’m afraid this show has lost the magic for me. Waiting for the next best thing to come along…could be a long wait….

The purpose for watching reviews to games you have already played is not validate your opinion of the game but to position the critic as to how you will weigh their reviews of games you haven’t played.

eg, you loved games W, X, and Y, but hated game Z.

Critic pans games X and Y, but loves games W and Z.

Now you know to be wary when critic reviews game types like W and Z because their idea of a good W/Z game is based on different criteria.

I don’t watch the show anymore and it has nothing to do with the controversy, well actually it does I suppose.
My decision is based on the fact that the magic chemistry has died. What I mean is that in TV land it is very rare for two presenters to work like magic together, a good example would be Graham Kennedy and Moonface.
I am sure this young lady is doing her best but the magic between them is just not there and this now makes the show all so hohum to me.

Much like the X-Files the Mulder and Scully dynamic is lost now that Jung has gone.

Admit it, you were all only watching anymore to see if Bajo and Jung would suddenly run towards each other and embrace like Hugh Grant and an American actress with two many teeth while Snow Patrol drones in the background.

I’m tearing up just thinking about how beautiful it would have been.
