After a short break, Good Game returns to your free-to-air television screens this evening for last final episode for 2009. It’s Christmas Special time!
Sadly, we don’t get to see Bajo dressed as a panto horse.
Warm Season’s Greetings to everyone at Kotaku.
Good Game wraps up the year with an extended show tonight where we try to cram in as many of the Christmas game releases as possible in an attempt to make sure that all your Christmas games are good ones.
James Cameron’s Avatar: The Game – it might be the biggest box office smash of the silly season but with a title like that can it possibly be any good?
Lego Indiana Jones 2: The Adventure Continues – it’s got a very cool split-screen mechanic but when is too much stud collecting more than enough?
The Saboteur is Pandemic Studios last game – have they gone out with a whimper or a bang in this WWII open world blow ‘em up?Anyone with a working Dreamcast might be interested in a the latest release for the extinct console, Rush Rush Rally Racing.
Just how bad is the eviscerated Aussie version of Left 4 Dead 2?
A look at two more Guitar Rock Hero Band games and, of course, The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks for the DS.
We’ll also be led by the spirit of gaming past to review the noughties from a gaming perspective, meet some hardcore players who are trying to make hospital stays for kids a much better experience and hand out our awards for the best and worst games of the year.
Catch Good Game’s one hour long Christmas Special at 8:30pm on ABC2 Tonight.
You can download/stream any episode at www.abc.net.au/goodgame
Enjoy the show!

Monday, December 14, 2009 at 4:11 PMSo are they perhaps going to do that ‘Video Characters Who Died This Year’ segment? Without Junglist?
By no means do I wish to be too abrupt about it but…dude, eff that.

Monday, December 14, 2009 at 4:29 PMI know, its all very lip service.
I just can’t take the show seriously anymore.

Monday, December 14, 2009 at 4:54 PMYeah, I really don’t think I can watch anymore. Bajo and Hex’s views just seem too similar. Bajo and Junglist seemed to have a “Margaret and David”-like rapport, which I always liked. I’ll leave it up to them to fight over who gets to be Margaret

Monday, December 14, 2009 at 5:42 PMI tried to keep going, tried to convince myself to keep watching but I recognise now that they’re obviously trying to push it in a direction that doesn’t appeal to me – and I find it hard to imagine that it is in the direction of impassioned gamers. Just doesn’t feel the same. Good game, Good Game, but I’m afraid the match is over.

Monday, December 14, 2009 at 5:54 PMI don’t really see much of a change in direction, the show layout is pretty much the same as it has been for the last twelve months.

Monday, December 14, 2009 at 9:42 PMIts more the feel now. When there was jung and bajo, there were two sides represented, and that came across in the reviews. With the new good game, it isnt the same, it is like they both are coming from the same side and the reviews and opinions dont seem as comprehensive

Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at 2:22 PMi think the new target audience are wii gamers and new gamers. the casual market is much bigger than the hardcore/enthusiast market. they are just following nintendos lead.

Monday, December 14, 2009 at 4:45 PMKotaku, can you please stop posting “What’s On Good Game TV Tonight?” we all know that its on monday night, we’re not stupid you know. Unless GG is your sponsor or something.
Beside the GG review sux, it like getting pretend non-gamer to do the review, and most of the time they don’t know what they’re talking about.
Cheese
Monday, December 14, 2009 at 5:35 PMAs opposed to pretend real-gamers? :P
Peter
Monday, December 14, 2009 at 5:38 PMI agree. It makes me depressed seeing this post every week. I used to enjoy the show, but now it leaves a bitter taste in my mouth every time I see GG mentioned on Kotaku. The show is dead to me and I don’t want to see any advertisements for it!

Monday, December 14, 2009 at 5:51 PMGuys, just pick and choose what you read. Hundreds of thousands of people read this blog and someone is bound to find these kinds of posts useful. Your opinion does not reflect the opinion of everyone else. Besides, how hard is it to scroll past something you’re not interested in?
Peter Richards
Monday, December 14, 2009 at 5:52 PMI find their reviews tend to cover stuff that other reviews don’t, especially annoying niggles in the game and long-term playability.
If I had to choose between Bajo and Junglist, I would have kept Junglist, but it’s not like he was a gaming super-guru. Show line-ups change and I think Hex is doing a good job.
So far Hex and Bajo’s scores haven’t been all that similar, Junglist and Bajo used to be closer in opinion if anything.
I enjoy the show, and I like the heads up here that it is on. There *are* lots of things on Kotaku that are of no interest to me, so I only click on the threads I’m interested in. I’ve never understood why anyone would read a thread that they don’t want to read.

Monday, December 14, 2009 at 11:38 PMI have to agree with this.

Monday, December 14, 2009 at 5:29 PMThanks for the reminder, David! After 2 weeks off air it’s amazing how quickly you get out of routine.

Monday, December 14, 2009 at 6:34 PMHaven’t watched since Jung left. I care little for what’s on, it’s all news I get from teh interwebs now.

Monday, December 14, 2009 at 7:35 PMGood Game is an abomination to gamers in this country now. The only true gamer on the show got the arse so what’s the point in even watching it now? I may as well get my 12 year old son to tell me how good something is as that seems to be the age mentality on the show now.

Monday, December 14, 2009 at 8:33 PMIf the forum and facebook posts are anything to go by, the main reason to watch is to look at how hot Hex is and comment on her clothes, boobs, etc.
Oh and the very occasional mention of a game.

Monday, December 14, 2009 at 8:43 PMI have to say, I was one of those people who was a little jaded about Jungs departure.. but i figured i’d watch the show ive always enjoyed anyway.. and hex did a great first episode.
But after watching GG for over a year.. somethings just not right and i just cannot be bothered anymore.
Quinn
Monday, December 14, 2009 at 10:47 PMIt’s not that I dislike Hex, it’s just that Junglist + Bajo = something special… Junglist was a quality reviewer and an entertaining host. I used to watch every week but now I don’t really care.
glennc
Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at 2:17 PMAnd he was a born natural in front of the camera from day one. kapowski was embarrasing and bajo is somewhere in between but he still to this day does not look as comfortable in front of the camera as Jung’s very first episode.

Monday, December 14, 2009 at 10:50 PMshow sucks now

Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at 11:04 AMwow, Kotaku users are nearly all in agreement over the Junglist departure. Good Game ABC…. Good Game. Such a bang-up job you’ve done there, congrats to Amanda Duthie for ruining yet another of Australia’s favourite shows. You may as well stop posting here now GG staff…. no-one likes you anymore.

Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at 2:25 PMJung didn’t leave, he was fired.
mj_girl
Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at 1:13 PMi agree with everyone opposing the hex and bajo partnership – i thought bajo was a tosser in the beginning but now even more so – and hex is odd looking, a boring actor, and i dont believe anything she says about games as she looks like some emo teen.
glennc
Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at 2:14 PMdo people still watch this POS. the talent was fired and what is left is just the awkward.
