That’s it, was an early Bethesda title. I only played the demo also and was not overly keen on it.

Future Shock. Seriously fun game that along with Skynet were a nice one-two punch of Terminator games from the 90s. Drive around, fly Hunter Killers and shoot the moon – they had it all. First game that introduced me to the concept of WASD + mouse too, even though I struggled to grasp it fully and kept wanting to use arrow keys to play.

It’s Future Shock, not SkyNet. Like Aaron, it was the first game I played with mouselook – this was several months prior to the Quake test.
At the time I thought it was great, mainly for pushing the first-person shooter out of gamey levels and delivering a more plausible play area; less corridors, more openness.
It also nailed the Terminator atmosphere and was scary as hell.

Hey Terminator:FS! That was really advanced for its day, full 3D buildings and everything. It was really fun running around and exploring. The combat was a bit ‘meh’ though.

FutureShock! man, that was one innovative game – if only the T4 game was anywhere near as good without the silly gimmicky stuff. Any game where you roam the mech infested wasteland of the future, get to hijack and fly a HK, invade the TDM facility and send Kyle Reece on his journey to the past? It also had revolutionary touches like the 3D map for working your way through the ruins…
It was an awesome ride.
