BlazBlue: Continuum Shift Keeps 2D Fighting Alive This Summer

Fans of the two-dimensional fighting game will get their fisticuffs fix with the release of BlazBlue: Continuum Shift on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 this summer, the follow up to last year’s BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger.

While not a full-fledged sequel to Calamity Trigger, BlazBlue: Continuum Shift’s incremental updates – three new playable characters, Tsubaki, μ-12 and Hazama – will make the new release that much more definitive for the serious fighting game follower. Aksys Games hasn’t nailed down a specific date yet for Guilty Gear maker Arc System Works arcade port, but it has laid out the new features, including new moves, new Tutorial and Beginner modes, and additional fresh trimmings.

It’s the perfect holdover for your next dose of 2D brawling, which will come whenever SNK Playmore gets The King of Fighters XIII out the door.

(Thanks, Zippi!)

Misleading: 2 new characters and a heavily nerfed old character.

No, there is a new character called Mu, which is what Noel becomes at the end of every characters arcade mode. It looks a lot like Nu/Lambda but it isn’t a clone of her.

This version of the game is much better than CT, with character balance and a lot of characters getting new moves.

@lcb: I think they where refering more to 2d animation now, when they say 2d

@Zan: Yeah balance made the good ones rubbish and weak ones great (except for poor tager).

So yeah if your favourite is racheal, it probably won’t be in CS (continuum shift) because she has almost beaten to death with the nerf stick.
