China’s Cutest Comic Book Artist

5:00PM March 10, 2010 | Brian Ashcraft

Xià Dá is a 28 year-old Chinese manhua (comic book) artist. Japan has just fallen in love with her.

Her work has been translated into Japanese and is being serialized in Japanese manga Ultra Jump. While she certainly does appear to have comic chops, that’s probably not why her photos are rampaging through the Japanese internet.

She appeared on the cover of a Chinese PSP magazine. Photos in the gallery, samples of her work, too.

Don’t all serious artists wear sailor outfits when interviewed?

…and 28, get away with you, someone’s mistaken her handwritten year of birth as 1982 instead of 1992 (or is it 1998).
