Play Need For Speed World For Free… And A Little Work

Do you feel the need to speed constantly with a whole bunch of other people? Black Box Studios has kicked off the closed beta test for Need for Speed World, adding thousands of testers over the next few months.

Need for Speed World is a persistent-world racing game where you’re always connected to thousands of driving game enthusiasts all over the world. If this sounds like fun to you, then you might consider heading over to the game’s website and applying for the closed beta test. The testing kicks off today with a select handful of participants, with more added on a regular basis as spring slowly turns to summer.

“Need for Speed World is the world’s first MMO racer – a completely new entertainment experience for speed junkies all over the world,” said John Doyle, Need for Speed World Senior Producer. “We have expanded Need for Speed’s classic adrenaline fuelled racing with an all-new power up system and deep RPG style progression to create a truly massive, socially-connected white-knuckle Need for Speed experience.”

Multiplayer racing games demand a precision, lag-free environment to be truly enjoyable. Being a beta tester will allow you make sure that the game that comes out this summer will be the game you want to play.

      i seem to remember reading about “nfs motor city online” in pcpp back in high school, back when print media was relevant… makes me feel awfully old for 22

    There’s a cartoony MMO racing game around which I forget the name of. Played it a bit, but became a pain in the arse to update. So he’s frankly wrong on that count.
