With my 360 off getting repaired, I’ve been spending a lot more time with my PS3 than I normally would. Heavy Rain, Final Fantasy XIII and Yakuza 3 have all occupied my time in recent weeks, to varying degrees of enjoyment.
But the most pleasure I’ve had is revisiting Valkyria Chronicles. I downloaded all the DLC and started a new game on the hardest difficulty. It’s a total and utter bastard. But otherwise, reacquainting myself with Squad 7 of the Gallian militia has been just the tonic after the previous JPRG I played.
I’m also going to be checking out Just Cause 2 for some crazy antics before heading into yet another JRPG in Resonance of Fate.

I always find it hard to finish and put games away that I’ve gotten really engrossed in – you can kind of only experience it for the first time once. I always end up finishing them eventually though.
Other than that, Final Fantasy XIII and maybe Ace Attorney Investigations.
You’ve reminded me though – I still have to finish Valkyria Chronicles, so I might do that if I get a chance!

I will not rest until I can unlock a decent scope. Is it just me or is it too long between getting half decent upgrades for the guns?

HAPPY that for once I don’t have to spend 30 hours of gameplay travelling back and forth between areas in the name of open gameplay, and that I don’t need to ask myself why these people trying to save the world are spending ages racing chocobos or playing blitzball or whatever. Thinking a lot of the complaints about Vanille’s chirpiness are people who weren’t paying attention to her first voiceovers (or the many contextual clues) that she’s intentionally puttin on a fake smiley front to cope with the situation. Thinking a lot of the people complaining about Hope were just as whiney at his age :). Psychologically it is (so far) more realistic than JRPG heroes often are…
