Apple plans to hand out awards for the best five iPad and iPhone apps at this year’s Worldwide Developers Conference in June.
The awards will judge entries, be they games, productivity or art, in four areas: technology adoption, design and user experience, innovation and performance. All iPhone Developer Program members are eligible to submit nominations, though an App doesn’t have to be nominated to win.
The winners will each receive an Apple Design Award trophy and “other exciting prizes to be announced,” according to Apple.
If you’re able to nominate make sure you do so by Friday, May 14 at 5pm PDT (May 15, 10am AEST). Only Apps currently on the App Store are eligible.

First they abandoned Mac OS X Downloads at Apple. And now they’ve ditched the Awards for Mac applications.
