A story on Bitmob about “The Death of the Video Game Expert” carries with it an interesting chart, showing how many games are released in a calendar year. As you can see below, as the industry got bigger, and more platforms were released catering to more customers, the number of titles put out each year grew exponentially.
Look where the numbers are during the last decade and you’ll see why the article was written in the first place, decrying the death of the video game “expert”. I’m not so sure I agree, but I sure like looking at the graph, which makes me feel so overwhelmed I get dizzy. Not so dizzy it makes me sick, just dizzy enough for it to be fun.

Sunday, April 11, 2010 at 10:12 AMI hate how there are so many good games around and so little time to play them all.
So painfully annoying.
FFXIII, MW2, BFBC2, GOW3 (God, not Gears)…
Wow…there are a lot of acronyms around aren’t there?

Monday, April 12, 2010 at 5:04 PMI have too many games with no where near enough time to play them, but can’t help but pick up MORE if the price is right.
Grabbing Too Human for $8 is a no brainer really, but when will I play it?
