LunchTimeWaster: Mandelbrot Set To Music

Kotaku AU

Huh. The makers of the exquisite Auditorium have made a new puzzle game with musical overtones. It’s called Fractal and it’s got me scratching my head.

So, you add hexagons to the board and, depending on the direction to select, they will push the existing hexagons onto a nearly space. The idea is to group seven hexagons into one large hexagon, at which point they all disappear.

I’m not really sure what happens beyond that, though. Or how the scoring, combos and bonuses work. Or even what could possibly be a good strategy. Although clicking on empty yet surrounded hexes seems to work best, allowing you to spread more hexes, more quickly.

Let’s work this out. Do you have any ideas?

    This game is awesomely fun.
Not worth the US$15 asking price, though (IMO).
