Whoops. yes, I meant Rescue. No idea how I got escape from in my head, suspect early morning pre-caffiene Aaron was to blame!

Yep, Rescue on Fractalus, if it’s not on the Atari mentioned above it’s the Commodore 64 from back when Lucasarts got on the fractal landscape game bandwagon (anyone remember Eidelon as well? :-))

Looks like the Atari 400 version, so is it the genuine rescue on fractalus, or the stolen Behind Jaggi Lines.
Funny to think that Lucasfilm was so naive back in the day that they delivered the disc not copy protected and their games ended up in the wild well before release date.

Nah, even the PC version of the first MechWarrior looked better than that: http://www.mobygames.com/game/dos/mechwarrior/screenshots/gameShotId,3634/

Yep, Rescue on Fractalus / Behind Jaggi Lines!!!
This was a brilliant game… I had played it for ages before I ever encountered an alien pilot… the first time it happened I jumped out of my seat as I watched them smash the cockpit window. 🙂
I think Lucasfilm Games (old name!) had three fractal landscape games… Rescue of Fractalus, Koronis Rift and The Eidolon. I didn’t get into Eidolon but enjoyed Koronis Rift… driving a tank, shooting saucers and stealing tech upgrades!
