Yeah I was thinking it looked like a Formula One version of Stunt Car Racer. I still play that game on my PSP. Classic awesomness.

It is Powerdrome folks, not Stunt Car Racer. You don’t steer cars with a joystick. 😉 (check the centre of the image :P)

I’m pretty sure it’s Stunt Car Racer for the Commodore 64. I played that game a heap back in the day.

It looks very similar to Stunts on the PC. I used to play that game heaps cause you could make your own tracks which was awesome at the time. Fond memories. 🙂

The fire extinguisher makes me think it might be Stunt Car Racer… These games all look the same apart from the dashboards!

Ooh! Ooh! That’s … … dammit, what’s it called? Power.. something. Powerdrift? No. Powerdrome! On the Amiga. I’m fairly sure it was a port from the ST. You race a little ship around a racetrack in 3D. You could customise your ship for aerodynamics vs control and had to change the air filters to suit the atmosphere of the planet you were racing on or you’d kill your engines.

And *now* I look up and see someone else got it. Well done doa and Adam 🙂
Powerdrome wasn’t a huge hit and was damned hard but the concept was brilliant for those times.

It was one of those games that sounded great in reviews and was on my must “buy” list. However I could never find it anywhere but for that reason it has stuck very clearly in my mind.

I was working for an Amiga retailer at the time so I got to play it but we only ever had one copy.

Legends of Valour was the game I always wanted but never had. Because of this I’ll probably remember it long after the game I did play are forgotten.
