Shogun 2: Total War’s E3 Screenshots

The Total War series returns later this year with Shogun 2: Total War, the sequel to the game that gave the venerable franchise its start.

While the terrain may be familiar to fans of the original, the visuals certainly won’t be, the game’s engine clearly having been given a tweak or three since Napoleon: Total War.

It’s lovely to see the return of the coastal missions, too. It always felt a bit funny fighting someone on the beach in Empire/Napoleon only to enter a battle and see nothing but… hills.
