The PlayStation Portable gets a lot more attractive starting today if you want to game on the cheap. The same for the PSPgo, which in North America, now includes three free games.
If you purchase a PSPgo within the next year, Sony Computer Entertainment America will throw in a voucher that lets you download LittleBigPlanet, Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters and SOCOM: Fireteam Bravo 3, gratis. According to SCEA, that’s a $US80 value, making the PSPgo financially much more attractive.
In good news for cheap-ass owners of the regular PSP, Sony and its third-party publishing pals have dropped the following games to just $US9.99, as part of a PSP “Favorites” line. It’s the cheaper version of the Greatest Hits segment and features a PSP must-have or two.
- Ape Escape: On the Loose
- Buzz! Master Quiz
- Hot Shots Golf Open Tee
- LocoRoco 2
- Patapon 2
- PixelJunk Monster Deluxe
- SOCOM: Fireteam Bravo
- Syphon Filter: Logan’s Shadow
- Twisted Metal: Head On
- Justice League Heroes
- Manhunt 2
- Midway Arcade Treasures: Extended Play
- Pinball Hall of Fame: Williams Collection
- Silent Hill: Origins
- The Sims 2
- The Warriors

Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at 10:49 AMLast week I remember the Sony rep saying about 7 free games with the PSP GO, now only three? :S
Still not buying, its not worth it in the long run when you still have to shell out for other PSN games and especially for no UMD support and that ridiculous price.

Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at 11:24 AMIt’s actually 10 free PSP games for AU gamers (all PAL)… this is the American promotion…

Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at 11:26 AMThe deal you’re thinking of is exclusive to Europe, as far as I know it’s still going to happen. This deal is for North America. We may get something like this in Aus, but we have sold so few PSPgo consoles that I doubt Sony would even bother.

Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at 11:08 AMHonestly, why doesn’t sony cut its losses and stick with the 3000?

Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at 1:48 PMUm… it says “free game downloads”? So even after you but the PSPGo you have to sit on your hands for a couple of hours/days to download the games before you can play? Wow, really highlighting the benefits of the Go, Sony!!!

Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at 3:14 PMso the go isnt for people still on dial-up but we’re not in the 90′s anymore dorothy.
r & C is only 750MB or just over an hour doanload for someone on (only just better than dial up) 1.5Mb, around 15 minutes for someone on 8Mb and only 5 minutes on 20Mb, so you could download all 10 free games in under an hour on a decent broadband connection.
days? maybe some research before you continue posting anti-sony waffle, Mr Waffle ;)

Thursday, June 3, 2010 at 1:54 PMOh please, maybe you should understand that not everybody is as into technology as you are. I have ADSL2+, so I’m fully aware of internet speeds. But guess what, not everybody has large download limits and fat pipes. I work with several people who use wireless 3G internet adaptors because 1-3gb plans suit them just fine. What happens if a parent buys this for a child and then suddenly end up with an excess usage bill from Telstra because of it?
