I’ve been actively seeking these two figures out for a couple of weeks now, just in case they slipped out into stores early. I’ve been collecting Transformers for years, though once the movies came out my habit slowed considerably, generally limited to small run items and convention exclusives, like last year’s Soundwave at the San Diego Comic Con.
With only two figures in the series, Bumblebee and Optimus Prime, the War for Cybertron toys seemed like a good line to hunt for.
And then Activision stole all my fun. Thanks, Activision.
Still, they’re here, and no Transformer in my possession stays in its packaging for long. Anyone fancy a comprehensive review?

Thursday, June 24, 2010 at 1:50 AMI have the Game, and I like the designs except for the tanks. They just don’t look quite right.
The Cars, Trucks and Jets on the other hand all look good. I especially like the way cars hover, Delorian style but when you boost, they drop to their wheels and haul arse on tires.

Pros: robot/alt forms, they look great no matter what form. Prime’s truck is pimping, BB’s car is cute and sleek. Looks like a Tron lightcar.
Cons: Quality control issues. My prime’s left foot had a tiny hole due to melting or the plastic mould wasn’t filled completely (not a break) while BB’s alt mode is far too tight. It just doesn’t fit perfectly and there are large visible seems.
