New James Bond Game Is Like A New James Bond Movie

Confirming literally years of rumours, Activision today unveiled James Bond: Blood Stone, a new Bond game that comes with not just driving sequences, but some celebrity pedigree, too.

For one, it’s featuring the vocal talents of Daniel Craig and Dame Judi Dench, reprising their roles from the last two Bond movies. The game’s story has also been written by Bruce Feirstein, who has writing credits on actual Bond movies Goldeneye, Tomorrow Never Dies and The World Is Not Enough.

Most prominent, and stupidest, is the presence of British soul singer Joss Stone (pictured) as the game’s “Bond girl”. That in itself is acceptable, but her name is Joss Stone. The game’s name is Blood Stone. And despite the game being developed by Bizarre Creations and starring Hollywood talent, this is the headline from the game’s first press release:

AWARD WINNING ARTIST JOSS STONE GOES UNDERCOVER IN ACTIVISION’S JAMES BOND 007™: BLOOD STONE

Classy.

The game features “cover-based firefights”, melee combat and driving sections, and will also feature a number of multiplayer modes. It’s in development for the 360, PS3, PC and DS, with a release date to be announced.

So it will be short, flashy and with little to no plot.
