IGN received a statement from Blackman, who confirmed his exit from LucasArts by saying that “now is the best time for me to move on and explore new creative challenges and I look forward to the next phase of my career.”
Blackman has served as a writer of numerous Star Wars games, books and comic books and currently shares writing duties on Batwoman for DC Comics.
LucasArts saw a group of high profile executive departures earlier this year, when president Darrell Rodriguez and other members of his team abruptly resigned.
According to a statement from LucasArts, Blackman’s departure will not affect Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II’s October 26 ship date.
