The developer of PlayStation Network and PSP game Gravity Crash is working with Oddworld Inhabitants and the brain of Lorne Lanning on several “exciting projects starring all of your favourite Oddworld characters”, which they’ll announce in the coming weeks and months. Yeah, it’s an announcement of an announcement, but we’ll take it!
Development on the unnamed Oddworld games has been underway for about a year, so if Just Add Water happens to show something at, say, Gamescom in August, it has the potential to be something playable.
The most recent game in the series was Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath, released in 2005 for the original Xbox.

Friday, July 16, 2010 at 1:12 PMCome on, now. Sure, Munch’s Oddysee was terrible, but Stranger’s Wrath was one of the best Xbox games made.
I am somewhat wary about Just Add Water handling this, but hell. It’d Oddworld. I’m excited to finally hear some news after so long.

Friday, July 16, 2010 at 1:35 PMWoohoo! I got a feeling something was up when Oddysee and Exoddus showed up on Steam a while back, then Exoddus on PSN.
Munch terrible? I enjoyed it a lot, but bigkid has got a point – 2D’s where its at.
I never got to play Stranger’s Wrath. I’ve been hoping against all hope that they release it for PSN. I’d even consider buying a 360 if it was available on Xbox Live.

Yes great news! Hopefully one of the projects is back to the roots of the PS1 games. I’d love a new Oddworld in all it’s 2D glory with a HD makeover!

Friday, July 16, 2010 at 4:27 PMIf they do something like they did with New super mario bros. Update the graphics + New gameplay elements + old school 2d + More puzzles and humour = EPIC WIN!!!!

Friday, July 16, 2010 at 6:49 PMWon’t be released for PC I’m willing to bet. I still havn’t played Munch’s or Strangers Wrath because I’ve never owned an Xbox.

Friday, July 16, 2010 at 11:08 PMI had some great times with the lovably hideous Oddworld games. The remembered good platforming and interesting design makes me hope these reboots are worthy.
