According to a report on Worthplaying, Modern Warfare 2 – the full version of the game and its recently released downloadable demo – unlocked full, freely playable versions of Garou: Mark of the Wolves, The King of Fighters ’98: Ultimate Match, Metal Slug 3, Metal Slug XX and Samurai Shodown II. Other SNK games (Fatal Fury Special, Neo Geo Battle Coliseum ) don’t appear to be affected by the glitch.
All players need to do is access the demo versions of those SNK games from the guide button while playing Modern Warfare 2 and “quick launch” them.
Worthplaying explains further how the unusual unlock works, a bug we expect Microsoft, SNK and Activision might be scrambling to fix.

Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at 1:22 PMI wonder if this has happened before with other games. I mean the odds of someone playing a XBOX 360 game, being someone who launches Arcade games via the Guide (while playing other games), and choosing to launch the one of the game demos that match up with the retail title are pretty slim.
You’ll eventually see it with long life games like Halo 3 or Modern Warfare 2, but with a game like Terminator Salvation it could stay hidden forever. Same goes for games that don’t go together like if playing Left 4 Dead 2 unlocked 3D Golf.
Although I’m guessing now people are on the lookout they’ll just compare the ID data or whatever it is that causes it for every title out there.
Also does anybody know if the reverse is true? Will buying a SNK game allow you to play MW2 off your hard drive without a disc?
