Madden: The Official Shoes Of The Game

The diagram of a successful touchdown play from the New Orleans Saints Super’ Bowl XLIV victory is lasered into the heels of the “Madden 11 Air Trainer 1.2″ by NIke, only 500 of which will be made available at retailers.

By my untrained eye, that looks like Fox 2 Halfback Screen Strong, scored by the Saints’ Pierre Thomas to give New Orleans a 13-10 lead early in the third quarter. I think this is probably the play most appropriate for the heel of an athletic shoe, considering the onsides kick to open the second half, and Tracy Porter’s interception-touchdown for the final score might be a little more complicated to render.

The rest of the shoe is pigskin inspired – brown pebbled leather, nubuck and synthetic materials for a majority of the upper, with white accents on the inner liner, Swoosh border, laces, and midsole.
