Answering reader mail, Rockstar Games today said it will be bringing Grand Theft Auto III, Vice City and San Andreas to Mac gamers “later this year”.
“Look for the long-awaited release of the classic Grand Theft Auto Trilogy (Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas) for Mac – most likely later this year,” the studio said in its “Asked and Answered” feature. “We’ll have much more info and a proper announcement soon.”
Technically, any Mac gamer with a copy of Windows installed has been able to play these games for some time. A native version is nicer to have. And its nice to see Rockstar climbing aboard in its support of the platform.
No pricing or other details.

Honestly I am stoked for you and all the MAC gamers out there as these are awesome games and I suggest you play them in order as they each add new features that once you have them, will be hard to go back.

Equally technically you’re not playing on a mac then, you’re playing on windows running on PC hardware shoved into an incredibly expensive case

Friday, September 10, 2010 at 1:22 PMI would pay good money to get GTA:SA on 360. Perhaps one da we will see it remade ala GoW collection. So much better then 4. I hate that they tried to be realistic, half the fun of GTA was spawning a hydra and crusing.
