How’s Sonic The Hedgehog 4 Looking These Days?

Going by its ability to render the classic Sonic the Hedgehog casino-style level – this one’s cleverly named Casino Street Zone – the episodic, old-school style Sonic the Hedgehog 4 is looking like a winner.

Hopefully, the game’s delay has given developers Dimps and Sonic Team to craft a product better than the ho-hum version we played just prior to E3. This new Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode I trailer offers the same “late 2010″ release date for the Wii, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, right around the time we’ll be swimming in big game releases.

What do you think? Still psyched for more Sonic?

That music is extremely bland, and the character model still looks weird.

But hey, it’s the most excited a Sonic game’s gotten me for many years.

“Sonic 4 Casino level changed to Sonic Flip outside of Japan”

Nice music choice, pretty sure it’s from Ocean’s whichever. Hope it’s in the final product.

ok. NOW I am excited for this game.
They’ve finally fixed that running animation (and he actually curls into a proper ball when he jumps!)
The music is sounding pretty old school as well, just need to bring up that synth line

Sonics movement still looks really slow to me. When he’s being flung around by boosters and bumpers is fine, but the running and jumping just look really sluggish.

it’s ironic isn’t it 10 years of trying to make a sonic game that could capture the speed in 3D they go back to the 2D format and it seems like theve slowed him down(could it be part of a master plan so the next 3D one doesn’t have to be as fast

That doesn’t sound or look very exciting at all. I’m surprised. =S
