The King Of Kong Once Again The King Of Kong

The Donkey Kong high score record has been shattered three times this year with Steve Wiebe recapturing the title from his King of Kong rival Billy Mitchell.

Hank Chien took the title from Billy Mitchell this past March. Chien beat Mitchell’s three-year record.

Mitchell reclaimed his title in July with a score of 1,062,800. This month, Steve Wiebe beat Mitchell’s score by hitting 1,064,500.

According to Twin Galaxies, Wiebe set the top Donkey Kong Score record in spring 2007. His efforts were documented in the film The King of Kong.

Didn’t Mitchell stop playing on purpose once he had beated the record? You can bet he’s already got something up his sleeve, the sneaky bastard.

      GO WIEBE!

Should this really be news anymore? It’s like tennis. They’re jsut passing the score back and forwards. I get the feeling Bill mitchel has a stack of vhs tapes in his house labeled 1.3 million, 1.4 million, and so on and just picks up the next tape to release when his current record gets beaten.
