Western retailers are knocking $US50 off the PSPgo’s $US249 price tag. Today, Sony made the price cut official in the US official. The cut for Japan, however, is twice as big.
According to Reuters, the PSPgo will be priced at $US199 instead of the $US249 list price.
After less than a year on the market, the digital download-only PSPgo will get a whopping ¥10,000 ($125) price cut in The Land of the Rising Sun.
Starting on October 26, the PSPgo will retail for ¥16,800 ($210), instead of the ¥26,800 ($335) Sony now charges.
Sony Computer Entertainment Kaz Hirai previously said that PSPgo pricing is “perhaps an issue”.
The disc-less PSPgo was first shown at the 2009 E3 gaming expo in Los Angeles and went on sale on October 1 in North America for $US249, as well as in Europe. The handheld went on sale in Japan on November 1, 2009.
