Alright, we know there’s bound to be some crossover here, with the console nominations, and maybe even with the indie nominations, but now the Kotaku awards is moving into the PC gaming realm. We want your nominations for the best PC games of 2010!
There’s no real limits here – any game that can be played on a PC is eligible, we’ll take your nominations in the comments below, then put the picks up for a public vote next week. So what’s it going to be? Starcraft II? Starcraft II? Or maybe Starcraft II?
Now get to nominating!

I’d like to put in an anti-vote for Black Ops, given how poorly made the PC version is.

Thursday, November 25, 2010 at 2:22 PMI actually quite enjoyed the PC version of black ops.
It was a GIGANTIC improvement over MW2, returning many of the things that were stupidly taken out of MW2 (Lean and dedicated servers for example). However, it’s not quite as polished as COD4 was, but it does have a little bit more variety.

World of Warcraft: Cataclysm – don’t lie, it was an ambitious and ultimately successful expansion and it ain’t even properly out yet.

I guess in a couple of weeks you’re going to have to include the next WoW expansion as well.

Thursday, November 25, 2010 at 1:57 PMI’m detecting a slight pro-Starcraft 2 bias from Mark . . .
So, mainly out of spite, my vote goes to the other craft game from this year. Minecraft.

Thursday, November 25, 2010 at 2:05 PMDoes anyone else think that maybe it’s no longer worth making the distinction between platforms for game awards nowadays? It bothers me that Mass Effect 2 might win/lose out on awards on the 360 but get those same accolades for the PC category.
Maybe break up games based on interface or something? Portable versus motion control versus traditional input? I have no idea.
Also, Minecraft.

and I im 50:50 about saying Black Ops. Few hiccups in the first week for it but its pretty good now and quite fun. Theyve taken a bit of care with some of the PC specific options this year.

Thursday, November 25, 2010 at 2:20 PMFallout: New Vegas (PC exclusive mods/bug fixes made it a vastly superior experience to it’s console brothers)
Sam and Max: Season 3 (Best season yet by far)
Alien Swarm (Free, fun, co-op. What more do you want?)

Thursday, November 25, 2010 at 4:15 PMWhy are we voting per a platform rather than per a genre? Being an FPS fan on the PC picking were pretty slim this year. I would suggest Black Ops, but the ending of the single player made me throw up in my mouth a little.
Sergei
Thursday, November 25, 2010 at 4:24 PMBlack Ops was one of those few games that, after the ending, I had the same feeling as you did. Just in case we didn’t get it (after an in-your-face diahorrea plot), they included a panorama of freedum-lovin-’merica. You just walk away from the credits afterwards feeling wrong. S’cuse the venting but I had to agree here.
