New Vegas’ "Dead Money" Concerns The Treasure Of The Sierra Madre

In Bethesda’s latest newsletter, a designer on Fallout: New Vegas spills details on the upcoming “Dead Money,” the Xbox 360-exclusive DLC extension to Fallout: New Vegas due on Dec. 21.

It’s essentially a treasure hunt for a mysterious city, in this case the Sierra Madre, “an opulent and extravagant resort that was supposed to be the greatest casino in the west,” but whose opening date, sadly, came after the bombs started falling. Its surrounding city, out in the Mojave Wasteland, is inhabited by the Ghost People, a people who are trapped inside hazmat suits thanks to pollution in the area.

You’ll be spotting it the usual way – faint radio broadcast, in this case advertising the grand opening of the casino that never came. New foes and NPCs may be expected, including the Ghost People and the casino’s “substantial defence systems.”

Dead Money gets here on Dec. 21 and will cost 800 Microsoft Points.

I think Bethesda/Obsidian need to take a step back and give their game the patch they promised before they start taking more money off anyone who has bought their game.

Precisely, I only finished the game this past weekend and lost count the number of times it crashed on me (on the PS3). As much as I still loved playing it.. for them to be working on this before fixing these issues is insulting.

I’ve only crashed 5 times, but I’ve encountered tonnes of universal bugs. For example the Vault Trinket from the 34 survivors or the Novac Nightkin.

I’ve had it crash on me a few times (usually when I talk to a particular travelling merchant at the 188 – crashes every time I talk to her!), but I’ve also encountered a few glitches like the Novac Nighkin or the Nellis train tunnel floor bug (that causes you to fall out of the world), Still, it’s not enough to make the game unplayable!

How about patching the game so I can play for longer than half an hour before it completly locks my console…

As much as I want to play New Vegas, I just cant.

sure, it bricked my fat 360 elite. but my new xbox slim handles it fine! So this game only cost me 489.95! As a lifelong fallout (and planescape team/obsidian) fan, it was totally worth it.

Dunno what you guys are on about, it crashed on me twice. I’ve had non-buggy games crash on me more often than that.
