
Icefrog, the man tasked with overseeing development of the original Dota, explains on the official site for the recently revealed Dota 2 some of the action RTS’s finer points.
Yes, Icefrog will continue development of the original Dota “for as long as the community wants,” he says. Yes, there will be bot support for players who’d prefer to play Dota 2 solo. Yes, Dota 2 is designed with cross-continent play in mind. No, there are no screen shots on the official Dota 2 site yet. :(
Dota 2 is planned for release on PC and Mac next year, but Icefrog calls the game a “long term project” with tweaks, additions and new features planned for the future. More details at the newly launched official site.
