The game had the working title of Mercenaries 3: No Limits and was still in the early stages of development when Pandemic was closed up. That explains why things look a little rough; it was a showreel displaying the game’s new concepts, not a shiny trailer designed for public consumption.
Nevertheless, with the one-year anniversary of Pandemic’s demise upon us, now is as good a time as ever for us to see could have been, had the game not been binned along with the studio that created it.

Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at 12:56 PMMercenaries was one of my most favorite games on the PS2, i must have played it 3 times to the finish with all the characters
When Mercenaries 2 came out on the PS3 i was saddened by how rubbish it was. One part i remember being annoyed at was trying to shoot down a helicopter with a stinger missile and having it destroy the tower i was standing on and crumbling to my death >:(
Luckily Just Cause 2 came out and was exactly what i was looking for out of that genre.
Kinda glad that a third game was not released.

Thursday, November 18, 2010 at 12:19 PMI dug the Mercs 1 game, but as Danny said, the sequel was a bit rubbish. I really, really wanna see more from Mattias Nilsson, one of my fav game characters ever!
Sad that there will be no more of this once great franchise.
