We’ve posted concept art of the absolutely fabulous costume from Tim Burton’s Superman Lives, but how does the suit look on film? Like Clark Kent escaped from a Kryptonian rave.
Here’s the video from Steve Johnson FX, which also provided concept art from J.J. Abrams’ Superman Fly-By.

Thursday, December 16, 2010 at 10:22 AMYeah. They could have at least faded the lights so the light looked like it was moving through it. Instead it’s just a bunch of blinking lights and a chain of on/off ones. Looks like a Christmas tree.

Thursday, December 16, 2010 at 4:42 PMThis is still pre-production costuming with no lighting, CGI, etc. Every superhero costume looks ridiculous when seen outside the scope of the movie. We can’t really judge this until we saw the finished look.
Remember, this is the 90s we’re talking about, the decade that put nipples on the batsuit. It wasn’t a good period for adaptions.

This is one of them.
