Ah, I love the smell of melted plastic in the morning. And I love these melted figurine sculptures.
Created by a Fukushima-based Japanese art collective known simply as “Three”, the works are marbleised blocks of heaps upon heaps of manga, anime and video game figurines. The result isn’t only striking, but beautiful.
Three’s works range from chopped cubes to large murals to vivisected sculptures made completely of figurines. It’s like Damien Hirst meets Kotobukiya. Brilliant.
