The next Bond film was originally planned for a 2011 release, but financial woes at studio MGM pushed back the release of the film. Bond’s next outing is still untitled, but director Sam Mendes (Road to Perdition, Jarhead, American Beauty) is on board to direct. Deadline reports that the next Bond video game “recently got the go-ahead”.
Whether that’s the rumoured Raven-developed 007 game with an emphasis on stealth we don’t yet know. But don’t be surprised when the inevitable Bond 23 game is announced.
While publisher Activision clearly does not need a film to tie its James Bond games to – see James Bond 007: Blood Stone – it did tap Call of Duty: Black Ops developer to handle an adaptation of Quantum of Solace. With Treyarch seemingly all-in on Call of Duty and the future Blood Stone developer Bizarre Creations uncertain, we have to wonder who Activision might task with handling the next Bond game.
Any suggestions?

Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at 1:08 PMAny suggestions, eh? How about somebody decent? Most Bond games aren’t worth looking at these days.
In light of which, I nominate RARE.
C’mon, you know you want it.

Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at 2:05 PMThat would be awesome… but it won’t happen.
Maybe they’ll get Bungie to do it.
And I liked Quantum of Solace.

Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at 3:39 PMI wouldn’t be surprised if Activision really try and push Bungie to do it, but ultimately concede and not try and piss Bungie off so early in their relationship.
Imagine that Bungie wouldn’t have time fit it in in the first place, assuming that the game will be a tie in with the movie and be out next year.

Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at 4:39 PMBungie’s got a huge crew working for them at present… it’s not beyond possible.
Also… another Bond film?
Hell yeah!

Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at 2:11 PM1. Rare are a shadow of their former selves and not even worth acknoledging these days.
2. Rare are owned by M$, so it would be 360 exclusive. I doubt this would happen.
I get the Rare-lovin, I was the biggest Rare fanboy around but they aren’t what they used to be.

Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at 1:32 PMWhat about a Bond game based on the “James Bond Jr.” animted series from the early ’90s. It could made by Telltale lol
Although Rare is a least likely candidate, what about another by EUROCOM since they’ve developed some decent Bond games in the past or even Gearbox who developed the PC version of “Nightfire” which was quite fun to play.

Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at 2:39 PMFrankly if they can make the stealth a little more natural feeling, I’d be bloody happy if Bizarre Creations got another go. Bloodstone was fantastic if a little rough around the edges, it was the first Bond game to actually feel like a bond game rather than feeling like a generic game with Bond textures slapped on.
Ubisoft Montreal might be a good (if probably impossible) choice, something similar to Splinter Cell Conviction could be a pretty good Bond game

Thursday, January 13, 2011 at 6:57 PMDid you ever play Everything or Nothing? That game was tops, and felt very much how a Bond game should. Although, the less said about its spiritual successor (From Russia With Love), the better.
