A 10-year-old boy in Italy is saved from possible death by a heroic off-duty policeman after walking off a railway platform while playing his PSP. This is why we do not walk and game at the same time.
Technology may truly be the downfall of man, or at least this small boy and that woman that fell into the fountain.
While 23-year-old off-duty police officer Alessandro Micalizzi was on hand to rescue this distracted youngster after he fell off the tracks at the Loreto station in Milan, Italy, this video could very well have had a very unhappy ending.
Micalizzi explains how things went down.
‘He was with his mother and sister, and before he fell I saw them out of the corner of my eye and he was completely lost in his game and wasn’t looking where he was going. I just had a few seconds because he had got off a train and mine was due in less than a minute so I acted as quickly as I could, making sure not to touch the rails.’
He also says he “just reacted with instinct”, the same instinct that should be telling us to look where we’re going when dangerous hazards are about.
The boy wound up winded and shed a few tears. There’s no telling how many of those tears were for the progress lost in whatever PSP game he was playing before the drop.

Friday, February 4, 2011 at 12:21 PMNoob, you’re doing it wrong.
It’s no surprising really: The other day some kids were playing by the street, so I slowed down in my car, and sure enough, as he looked right in my eyes, he rode his scooter onto the street, making me hit the brakes and beep at the same time.. I mean, looking right at me, in a car going 30, why would you jump out in front?

Imagine the outcry if he had died.
“Computer Game Kills Young Boy”, or something along those lines.
IMO He’s 10 – He doesn’t need a PSP!
Also, from a very young age, I’ve been taught to pay attention around traffic (cars, buses, trains, trams)
I put a little blame on the parents with this one.
