Worlds collide once more in a festival of cheesy special effects and hilarious video game references next month, when Press Start 2: Continue (Press Start 4 in Japan) hits DVD.
The original Press Start was like every poorly made video game fan film ever made rolled up into one, with slightly better production values. You won’t find stellar acting, seamless CGI, or any real deep meaning here. It’s just fans making fun of the video games they love.
And we can expect more of that come March 11, when the sequel is finally released on DVD. The second installment finds the ninja Lin-Ku conscripted by a picky princess to recover an ancient artifact and rescue RPG-hero / street fighter Zack and his partner Sam, the ambiguously female space person.
It’s sure to be completely ridiculous.
