Sega keeps Virtua Fighter alive (in Japan at least) with yet another update to the seminal 3D fighting game. What does Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown Version A bring to the beat ‘em up? Dural, maybe?
The series’ shiny boss makes a brief appearance at the end of this new trailer for Sega’s latest update to VF5, featuring a powerful crotch attack. Seriously. Dural looks pretty deadly in this newly released video, timed with the AOU 2011 show in Japan, and is hopefully a sign of things to come.
Speaking of things to come, now that everyone’s back on the fighting game bandwagon, Sega, how about a Virtua Fighter 5 update for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3?

Why release an update to a game that was practically a launch title on both consoles, is out of print, and no one really plays anymore?

Sunday, February 20, 2011 at 3:46 PMBecause it clearly still has a solid following, otherwise why would Sega still bother to release updates for it? Yes, the following in Japan is massive compared to outside of it, but there are still heaps of people who would prefer Virtua Fighter to Street Fighter, Tekken, DOA, ect, and who still play it, despite Sega giving us NONE of the updates the arcade version has received.
